Global Development Network Inviting Proposals for 2012 GDN Global Development Awards and Medals Competition (AMC)

The Global Development Network is now accepting proposals and completed papers for its 2012 GDN Global Development Awards and Medals Competition (AMC). The competition categories are:

  • Medals for Research on Development: for exceptional completed research papers
  • Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD): for original, policy-relevant research proposals

Proposals and completed papers are being invited for the following themes:

  • Inequality
  • Social Protection and Social Policies
  • Inclusive Growth

The top-ranked Medals finalists for each theme will have the opportunity to present their papers at the plenary sessions in the 14th Annual Global Development Conference, to be held in Manila, the Philippines in June 2013. The ORD finalists for each theme will have the opportunity to present their proposals at the parallel sessions in the same conference. Finalists will also have the opportunity to participate in a two-day training workshop prior to the conference.  AMC winners will be chosen by an eminent jury at the Conference.
