I am most grateful to but thank IFPRI and AGRODEP team for facilitating my participation at the just concluded Training on Applied Panel Data. For me the training was relevant and timely considering recent trends in Panel data analyses. Most of us were just getting to learn so many issues on contemporary panel data analyses there. Right from the onset, we were introduced to the use and applications of the free online R software which to me, is a very versatile tool, thrilling and easy to use. We were introduce to panel data especially issues on pool ability of data, fixed and random effects, dynamic panels, quantiles estimations and the use of the Latex software. These are things I can never forget. Our tutor: Prof Chris was also a very interesting, calm and seasoned tutor. He wanted us to be vast in most mathematical and other rationales behind most panel data models run on the computer, in order to better explain our results. He took extra time in all the training days to teach. I am indeed indebted to him
A big thank you to my good friend, Alimotou and her crew who provided all the necessary superb logistics for our transport, feeding, hotel accommodation and friendly atmosphere. Of course, I miss all my trainee friends who came from across Africa. They made the training memorable.
