The 2007 Liberia Demographic and Health Survey (LDHS) is the third in a series of DHS surveys to be held in Liberia—the first two having been implemented in 1986 and 1999-2000. The 2007 LDHS was undertaken by the Liberian Institute of Statistic and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Liberia Institute for Biomedical Research and the National AIDS Control Program (NACP). Macro International Inc. and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Support Team provided technical support.

The 2009 Liberia  Malaria Indicator Survey (LMIS) was conducted under the auspices of the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOH&SW) and the Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), with technical support from the MEASURE DHS project at ICF Macro. Financial support was provided by the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The 2009 Lesotho Demographic and Health Survey (2009 LDHS) is a nationally representative survey of 7,624 women age 15-49 and 3,317 men age 15-59 from 9,391 households covering 400 sample points (enumeration areas) throughout Lesotho. This survey is the second nationally representative population and health survey conducted as part of the worldwide Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) programme. The survey is designed to provide data to monitor the population and health situation in Lesotho.

The 2008-09 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (KDHS) was implemented by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (including the National AIDS and STIs Control Programme-NASCOP), the Ministry of Medical Services, the Ministry of Gender, the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), the National Coordinating Agency for Population Development (NCAPD), and the National AIDS Control Council (NACC).

The 2005 Ethiopia Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) was conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and implemented by the then Population and Housing Census Commission Office (PHCCO), now merged with the Central Statistical Agency (CSA). The key findings of the survey were released in a preliminary report in November 2005. This final report details the findings of the survey.
