Fémi Hounnou

Dr. Fémi Hounnou holds a PhD and Master's in Agricultural Economics from the University of Abomey-Calavi. He is a DAAD Climate Researcher Alumni and Post Doc in Africa (ClimapAfrica), the International Foundation for Sciences postdoctoral fellow, and recipient of the African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) research mobility grant. He is a Research Assistant and part-time Lecturer at the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin.


Postdoctoral Fellow of the Africa Graduate Mentoring and Coaching Program (AGMCP Cohort 4), Dr. Hounnou is also a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists and a local expert of Humboldt University on capacity building and advanced support for policy analysis using economic models in Benin and Kenya. His research expertise lies in climate change effects analysis. It particularly focuses on economic modeling to explore and quantify the impact of climate change and agricultural policies, including adaptive strategies to cope with climate change and socio-ecological systems. He works to promote sustainable crop production through sustainable land management in the context of climate change to improve small farmers' livelihoods and government export income.
