Collaboration opportunity for Nigerian researcher on livestock analysis

The Program of Accompanying Research for Agricultural Innovation  (PARI) project researchers seek to identify an AGRODEP colleague from Nigeria who can work on livestock analysis as part of the project on "Trends and investment opportunities for livestock feed and fodder in Africa." The study will involve:

  • Assessment of the availability and quality of feed in the African livestock sector as well as bottlenecks to a supply of adequate and nutritious feed. The analysis will distinguish between ruminants (incl. feed and fodder from pastures) and monogastric animals (poultry, pigs, incl. feed grains and proteins) and consider both domestic production and imports of feed.
  • Model scenarios for the future to assess which investments could make Africa more self-reliant in the animal feed and fodder sector (This needs an innovative research concept)

Nigeria is one of the countries identified for country case studies of these assessments.
