The latest addition to AGRODEP's course offerings, Augmented Gravity Models, was held in Dakar, Senegal from October 5-9, 2015. Participants were provided with a hands-on introduction to gravity modeling which included the theoretical foundation, empericial strategies, and importance of correct specification of gravity models.

17th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis18 Jun, 2014 - 20 Jun, 2014
The 17th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis, held in Dakar on June 18-20, 2014, was co-hosted by GTAP and AGRODEP. The theme of this year's conference was "New Challenges in Food Policy, Trade and Economic Vulnerability." Nearly 30 AGRODEP members were invited to attend the conference and many of them had the opportunity to present their research.

2014 AGRODEP training courses - Advanced CGE Modeling16 Jun, 2014 - 23 Jun, 2014
The 2014 Training Course series on Advanced CGE Modeling was held in Dakar on June 16-17 and June 22, 2014 surrounding the 2014 GTAP conference. The first portion focused on IFPRI and PEP models and the second course was co-sponsored by the World Bank and covered regional trade integration. The first two days were taught by Ismael Fofana and Fousseini Traore, and the last day was taught by David Tarr and Thomas Rutherford.

2014 AGRODEP training courses - Impact Evaluation and Analysis of Development Interventions III2 Jun, 2014 - 6 Jun, 2014
The 2014 Training Course on Impact Evaluation, the third of the IE series, was held in Dakar on June 2-6, 2014. The course was organized by Tanguy Bernard, facilitated by Susan Godlonton, and lectures were taught by Michael L. Anderson. The course covered several IE topics including selection bias and research design. Participants also spent time learning good referee and discussant practices.
