OVERVIEWThis course will provide participants multiple up-to-date statistical and econometric techniques to analyze microeconomic data. In particular, a wide variety of microeconometric methods available in Stata will be covered, including linear regression, instrumental-variables estimation, nonlinear models, panel data models, estimation of average treatment effects, and simulations and bootstrapping (if time permits). Special emphasis will be placed on the rationale and implementation of the methods and interpretation of results using different examples and applications. Overall, the course aims to help participants analyze microeconomic data by applying different econometric techniques using a popular specialized software. |

AGRODEP is pleased to announce a new two-part training course on Policy Analysis and Innovations in Value Chains as part of the AGRODEP Value Chain Analysis Virtual Hub. Value chain analysis (VCA) are increasingly promoted to guide agricultural policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. This two-day course will cover aspects of value chain analysis tools and detail a number of recent innovative interventions to lift value chains constraints, with a particular focus on increasing farmers’ well-being. The training will alternate lectures with exercises based on existing value chain data. |

Several AGRODEP members have been selected to participate in a workshop on the modernization of African agriculture through the adoption of improved agricultural technologies. The event will be held from September 18-22 in Dakar and will be organized by Institut des Hautes Etudes du Développement Durable (IHEDD), in collaboration with Fondation pour les Etudes et Recherches sur le Développement International (FERDI), IFPRI, AGRODEP, Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI), and the World Bank. |

Starting in 2016 and continuing into 2017, clinics have been organized by IFPRI's West and Central Africa Office to provide capacity building support for the appraisal of existing National Agricultural Investment Plans (NAIPs). The goal is to provide these expert African participants with the necessary tools to guide country officials in the design of new NAIPs. |
